Autumn in Jackman Maine consists of two distinct periods. October is a
very beautiful time to experience
the waning of fall foliage, as well as enjoy upland game hunting. The
temperatures are usually very pleasant during the day (50-70 f) and cool
at night (25-45); we will often have our first few snowfalls during October.
The forests are beautiful at this time of year and many of our campers
are either hiking or hunting in the woods for ruffed grouse. Migratory
bird hunting is also open during October and waterfowl hunters can occasionally
be found on Long Pond just after sunrise and just before dusk. October
is also a great time to take advantage of our low off-season rates.
